Review for user proudviet from fourtwenty

  • I bought an HSF and window kit from duong.

fourtwenty was the Seller on March 27, 2003 RedFlagDeals

Not a very good experience. We agreed on a price of $64, which included shipping. Once I made payment he told me he couldn't ship right away because his replacement HSF hadn't arrive yet. I feel he should have told me he was waiting for a replacement before I paid, and he may not be able to ship right away. A few days past and he shipped the items out Xpresspost.
They arrived 2 days later. When I opened the package I found the window was scratched by the HSF. Everything arrived in a plastic bubble wrap envelope and the HSF was not wrapped in anything. The only protection the window had from the metal edges of the HSF was a clear plastic bag and the film that comes stuck to the window. When I told him it was damaged he responded "Next time, maybe you should put some money to help with shipping? ;)" When I demanded that he refund my money he replied "All sales are final, sorry."
This issue was brought public at a few forums and after much kicking and screaming he refunded my money for the window kit (including shipping), which I will be mailing back to him. Duong did have good communication throughout the deal, I can't fault him on that one, and I don't think he intended to troll me. I'm sure he's learned a valuable lesson on shipping/packing, and on proper conduct when engaging in trades with adults. Exercise proper judgment if you decide to engage in a trade with Duong. I will be keeping all his correspondence should anyone be interested in reviewing it.

    Response from proudviet
I told him after he paid that he would have to wait until after the weekend before I shipped it out because I didn't get my SLK-800A yet, he didn't show any objections so I went through with the deal.

My comments were not serious and I didn't mean for him to take it that way.

He brought the issue to Anandtech, Redflagdeals and Overclockers.com when the deal had only occured at Anandtech! It hadn't even been *12 hours* and he went public!!!

After the sour deal, he agreed that he would remove the Negative Heatware -- which now he denies. I left him Negative Heatware because he was *very hostile* throughout our emails and PMs which then got me banned from Anandtech for *2 weeks* for leaving "retaliatory heat". I was very nice to him the whole time, even though he screwed me over.

I would never trade with fourtwenty again. His actions damaged my name as an online trader and the things he had said/done did not help the situation at hand.

I replied to the Anandtech post and people were agreeing with me and fourtwenty started lashing out at them too until the Moderator locked the thread.

DID HE MENTION THE VANTEC AEROFLOW I SENT HIM? Of course not, he just wants to ruin my name.

Consider this a Negative Heatware for fourtwenty since Anandtech will not let me leave him one.
