  • 128Mb PC133 SDRAM for floppy drive

    Cross-traded on October 21, 2003 Other/Unknown

Item arrived damaged, buy I still gave the trader positive feedback. HERE'S WHY: The floppy drive arrived with a couple bent pins (bent in the middle, not where they come out of the casing, which must've taken some work to do), messed up diskette release mechanism, and some other minor problems. At first I thought he had just sent me a crappy item. PMed the trader about the drive; he was very nice and understanding, and he completely redeemed himself! He told me his girlfriend had sent out the drive for him, and most likely didn't package it well enough (the drive came in only a thinly padded envelope and a plastic Walmart sack, so I'd have to agree with him). He offered to reimburse me for the drive through PayPal, which I thought was very nice gesture. I think it's pretty clear from his replies that the trader wasn't trying to shaft me or anything; I think USPS just beat the hell out of the drive.

Anywyas, I was able to use some needle nose pliers to straighten the pins (at least straight enough for the floppy cable to go on). After screwing around with the drive for a while, it's now working like it supposed to. :)

Despite this little mishap, I would deal with this trader again. I'll request some extra beefy packaging, though. :D
