    I bought a win98 se cd

    Alex00 was the Seller on November 12, 2003 AnandTech

    I paypaled him for what I thought was gonna be a win98 se cd well he sent me a burned copy and when I demanded a refund he told me to F Off and that I must be scamming him also hes got the worst attitude problem i've ever come across

    I meant to send him the original CD along with a burned copy because the original had scratches. When he informed me that he had only received the burned copy, I offered to immediately send the original. He refused and demanded a refund even though he admitted he had already used my key to install the product and was in possession of the COA I sent him. He never agreed to return the COA or uninstall the software.

    I never told him to F off. The mods at Anandtech have read our exchange and understand that I offered to send the original. I'm sure they'd be willing to confirm that and to confirm that I never used any profanities. His assertion that I did tells me a lot about him.

    It is my impression that this trader tried to take advantage of my initial and honest mistake by installing the product with no intention of uninstalling it AND asking for a refund.

    His behavior has been very deceitful and despite his excellent history as a trader, I would be very careful when dealing with him.
