Review for user scsi-xprt from badthad

  • Attempted to buy a P4 2.6C CPU from David.

badthad was the Seller on September 21, 2003 AnandTech

Horrible communication skills. He finally had to refund my money ($190 US) so this is not a negative review, but I felt it necessary to share my experience. Here's the exact PM's taken from AnandTech.com forums:

The CPU was sent yesterday evening. Shipping to you was stated at 5-7 days, so you should get it by the end of next week.

Do you have a tracking number please? The CPU has still not arrived and it's been 11 days now.

    Thanks, Thad

14 days and it's still not here. How did you send it? Please PM the tracking info to me, it works better for me.

    Thanks, Thad

It's not getting ugly. Have you been checking your email?

Here is a copy and paste of the last email I sent you.

    "Hi Thad,

I did ship the CPU, via Canada Post. I will contact them tomorrow about doing a trace on it. Yes I am aware of the amount of money involved, but put yourself in my shoes, If I give you a refund without knowing what happened, you will then get my CPU and I have nothing. If I can file an insurance claim, then I will gladly give you a refund, but at this point the only thing I can do is to open a trace. I will find out where your CPU is, count on that."

That being said, I have already started a trace, and will know more info tomm. If you are not checking your email, then let me know.

I'd prefer to keep communication using the AT PM system, it's a lot easier than email. I check my email VERY frequently, except my webmeister@lycos.com account, I can only check from home (work blocks it). I've read that email, you sent it to me on September 12. Today is September 16th and you still don't have an answer? What kind of postal system do you have?

For the second time, please give me the name of the carrier and the tracking number. Obviously, since you shipped it on 8-28-03 and today is 9-16-03, this package is not going to make it here. It's been 18 days in the mail? I suggest you abandon the tracking idea and proceed directly to an insurance claim, I REALLY want my money back. PLEASE MAN

Please tell me something about the 2.6C CPU. We need to resolve this.

    - Thad

As you can see, he only told me the ship date AFTER I asked. He never emailed it to me either. He sent me a total of ONE email, even after I said to only use the AT PM system. I asked 3 times for the tracking number and postal carrier, no response. I finally rec'd a refund on 9/22/03 thus a NEUTRAL eval. But for quite some time I feared I had been trolled.

I know his response will be "It got lost by the post office", but his communication throughout the deal was HORRIBLE. Since he would never reveal the tracking number, I honestly think I gave him a $190 loan for a month.
