Review for user Silex from pyro451

  • Bought MSI K8T NEO2 FIR

pyro451 was the Seller on August 29, 2005 AnandTech

On 8/13 (Sat) I sent paypal (including fees). On 8/16 (Tue) seller indicated board was shipped. On 8/19 seller provided DC# at my request and said the board should "get to you by today, but hopefully by tomorrow or at most, Monday." The board arrived on 8/24.

I built the system on 8/27 and the board would not POST. All other system components are brand new except the video card. I tried three different video cards in the board (including a PCI card) and still no POST. I installed the included Diagnostic Bracket and it indicated failure at "early chipset initialization".

I informed seller of DOA and he said the board was AS-IS and he sent a copy of his receipt so I could RMA the board. He did not offer to pay shipping for the RMA or any other remediation.

No where in the PMs or emails was AS-IS stated. It was not in the original post either (seller claims it was, but has deleted info from post and I did not save a copy...silly me).

Overall, I am not happy with this deal or this seller. I will RMA the board and will probably be fine eventually.

This was just not a pleasant experience (unlike the rest of my trades on Anandtech).

    Response from Silex
This buyer defintely saw my Terms as they were blatantly posted at the end of the OP. I advertised the motherboard with a 3 year warranty as provided by MSI and evn emailed him the original receipt. He even lost that copy so I mailed him it again. This transaction went the way it should have and the buyer just needs to be more careful reading Terms from now on.
