  • 160GB Hitachi Hard Disk Drive sold for $35.00 shipped

JPS was the Buyer on June 4, 2007 HardForum

Initial exchanges on the deal were positive, buyer even stated upon receipt, \"that the drive was well packaged and delivered on time and working great.\" Buyer\'s communication was quick and pleasant.

However, approximately two weeks later, buyer contacts me to say that the drive is bad and his system is unstable. I guarantee all of my items sold to be non-DOA upon arrival and offer to refund his money, multiple times no less, if he returns the drive to me. Instead, I receive a litany of verbally abusive emails from the buyer with escalating accusations that I knowingly ripped him off. In that I stand by my guarantees and honor my word, the buyer has been refunded his original payment though I have no guarantee that I will ever see the drive again, much less that it will be in any state wherein I can RMA it to Hitachi.

    Response from mrxrok
First he advertised the drive as a faster newer model but he sent me an older model. I had asked him and he said he was sorry so I really didn\'t want to return the drive and eat more cost so I decided to keep it.

Drive seemed to be working fine when I first received it. Seemed to read and write like normal. But not until I had about half way filled in and my computer keeps locking up and wouldn\'t even boot with the drive attached to the motherboard.

His initial response was to do the RMA myself after having the drive for 2 weeks in my possession. He just wanted to dump the problem on to me it seemed.

I told him I wouldn\'t do the RMA and told him to take his responsibility. Bunch of emails later he he tells me he will refund my money.

He\'s just not an honest seller and bate and switch tactics to take responsibility for what he sells.
