  • Used TI-83+ Calculator

yousearch was the Seller on October 9, 2007 AnandTech

I contacted Yiow-Jun on 9/11/07 about the TI-83+ calculator he had for sale. I asked him if the calculator came with all the retail items and he didn\'t reply. I completely forgot about the calculator until two weeks had passed and my sister asked me if I bought the calculator. I contacted Yiow-Jun again on 9/25/07 to see if he still had the calculator, he replied back on 9/28/07 that he did and gave me his PayPal e-mail and told me to drop him a line once payment was sent. I paid him the following day 9/29/07 notifying him via the e-mail in his posting and PM of completed payment. I didn\'t hear anything back via e-mail or PM from him regarding a shipping update for four days, so on 10/3/07 I contacted him to get a shipping update. On 10/5/07 Yiow-Jun replied saying \"just want to double check before I send the calculator out, when I said Yes I do after you told me your sister reminded you about the calculator, I meant that I still have the calculator, but I don\'t have all the link cable, manual etc, it\'s just the calculator itself, is that ok with you??\"
Now, when I paid him I was aware that the calculator might not come with any accessories but need for a calculator overrode the need for a link cable so I bought the calculator. What is appalling to me is that it takes SIX days for him to reply to one of my messages (I had been e-mailing him during these six days at his profile e-mail, the e-mail in his post, and his HeatWare e-mail) and then tell me that he wasn\'t sure if I wanted the calculator. Clearly, I was in need of the calculator, regularly asking for updates.
In any case, I told him that all is forgotten, just ship the calculator out already. Once again, no response. I let three days pass, and then contacted him again (10/8/07) asking for a refund telling him \"if you have no intention of shipping the calculator, refund my payment\" Once again, no response. So, I contacted the moderator and asked him to contact Yiow-Jun as well.
Finally, two day later, Yiow-Jun replied (10/10/07) notifying me that he had chosen to refund my payment and trying to excuse his negligent behavior by saying \"I am really busy with school and intern jobs, that I don\'t get to go on the forums that often.\" I cannot absolve Yiow-Jun of his behavior because he was busy. If you\'re \"busy\" enough to take my money and sit on it for 11 days, you\'d better be \"busy\" enough to at least reply in a timely manner, much less ship the item I\'ve paid you for.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH THIS SELLER UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING/READY TO WAIT WEEKS AT A TIME FOR YOUR ITEM TO SHIP (IF THEN).
