  • bought a retail box e2180 more or less

Agreed to buy a used full retail package cpu on 11/29. Trader only had 2 heat but they were both positive. Knowing how hard it sometimes is for new traders I gave Prentice the benefit of doubt and sent a money order via priority mail. About a week later I received the CPU via first class mail instead of priority as advertised in the thread. Also, I only received the cpu not the full retail package that was agreed to. Tied for the worst packing job I ever had the displeasure of receiving. The cpu was wrapped in a small piece of bubble wrap and put into a piece of a bubble wrap envelope and taped shut. There was flimsy plastic \"cup-like\" piece that the cpu was supposedly put in but since Prentice didn\'t bother to secure the cpu into it, it became a non-entity. I asked about the fan and was told it would ship the next day. Since then I have asked several times but still have not received the box and heatsink that is owed to me. I eventually had to buy an aftermarket heatsink so I could test the motherboard I bought. That defeated the whole purpose of buying a retail package. If I wanted an OEM chip I could have bought one new for less. At this point I have doubts that Prentice will complete the deal as agreed to. Even so I could never rate this as a positive experience. The reason it\'s not a negative is because the chip works despite the crappy packing. I also have to accept part of the blame for placing too much trust in an unestablished trader.

    Response from Prentice
I thought the packing was excellent. The fan issue has been resolved. I said that it was a retail chip not sold retail but whatever.
