The CPU and HSF were placed inside the retail motherboard box (the CPU was shipped with the pins inside an anti-static foam block and inside what I presume is the plastic clamshell it originally came in). The motherboard box itself was enclosed in a layer of bubble wrap and placed in a secondary box. Additional space in the secondary box was filled with packing peanuts. An excellent job!

3. Shipping/Packaging ?Çô Shipped first due to lack of heatware. He volunteered this before I could ask! Tracking number supplied promptly upon shipment. The item was packaged fairly well. The items were placed in their original retail box (which includes sturdy cardboard). This retail box was then placed between two sheets of between 3/8?Ç¥ and 1/2" thick foam and placed into a secondary box. Some lateral movement of the retail box within the secondary box may have been possible with extremely rough handling. Some packing peanuts or foam spacers to prevent lateral movement would have been the icing on the cake. However, I am a packing freak so, all things considered, it was a good job of packing.

Maybe a single layer of foam or bubble wrap inside of a box would have been ideal, but the thick shiping envelope provided adequate protection.

3. Shipping/Packaging ?Çô Shipped promptly after receipt of payment. Tracking number supplied promptly upon shipment. Packaging was so-so by my standards (I am very picky about packaging). The adapter was sent in its oringal packaging which consists of a solid cardboard box with some compartments in it. These compartments were filled with some packaging peanuts and shredded paper, but you could still hear the contents move when you picked up the package.

The adaptor itself was placed in a nice plastic formed holder, but I would have liked to see the pins in some anti-static foam to protect them. This plastic box was then placed in a smaller cardboard box with some packing peanuts which was in turn placed in the overall box. Also, I would prefer that retail boxes be covered with brown paper or similar to hide the contents of the package, of course, that is my personal preference and was not stated during communications. Despite my reservations about the packaging, all items arrived in excellent condition and with no damage.

First, the card was wrapped twice with bubble wrap. Than it was placed in a shipping pouch (the kind that has bubble wrap already in it). This was placed in an anti-static bag. The anti-static bag was then wrapped in two MORE layers of thick bubble wrap. This was then placed inside a cardboard box. The cardboard box was wrapped with a layer of bubble wrap and placed in another much larger box which was filled to the brim with packing peanuts. This package would have had to have been steam-rolled to be damaged in transit. A superb job!!!

In fairness, the shipping box was quite thick and it would take quite a blow to damage the box enough to reach the contents.
