  • Purchased a Western Digital Hard Drive.

patrickj was the Buyer on July 14, 2001 AnandTech

I needed a specific drive to match a drive that I already have so that I could set up a mirror in my server. Stephen was very patient answering all of my questions. We finally determined that his drive was a match for mine, and since Stephen was a new trader, he agreed to ship first. He packed the drive extremely well, and it arrived within two days as expected. When I installed and tested the drive, I found that it was in good working order, and that he had tested it for bad sectors and fdisked it for me to. The drive came exactly as a drive should. I sent his Money Order out, and we had a very good transaction. I would highly recommend Stephen and would not hesitate to trade with him again.

We met halfway between where each of us lives and exchanged our hardware. Communication before the trade was excellent and when we met, everything was exactly as described. • Sold Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D70.

patrickj was the Seller on February 15, 2005 AnandTech

I sent this out via US Postal with delivery confirmation on Feb 3. I had been watching for delivery confirmation to make sure that the package was delivered. On Feb 14, I received a PM saying that the CD still had not arrived. Perplexed, I called US Postal and was informed that they don't consider the package late until after 15 days. I thought that bit and offered to send by back-up copy of the CD if the original shipment did not arrive in another day or so. Chong Lee said that would be fine. I was getting ready to ship the copy when I received a PM that the CD had finally gotten there.

I would definitely deal with Chong again. He was very patient and the communication between was very civil. Overall, I am very pleased with how the transaction ended and would recommend Chong to anyone else considering buying/selling with him.

  • Sold an Adaptec 19160 SCSI controller with cable and shipped it to the great white north.

patrickj was the Seller on July 16, 2001 AnandTech

We agreed on price pretty quickly, and the money was paypal'd quickly. The only problem was that the money was from a credit card, and my paypal account can only accept $100 per month in credit card payments. I explained this, and we decided that I would not accept this payment, and that non-credit card funds would be sent. The new paypal arrived very quickly. Since I had never shipped to Canada, I didn't realize what was next. I went to the Post Office several times and read a forum posting about shipping to Canada before we decided how to ship the card. I shipped the card out and found that shipping was much more expensive than usual. Once Trung received the card, he sent me half of the shipping to offset what I had paid. I was very appreciative of that. The communication was excellent, and I think that is why this deal went so well. I would not hesitate to trade with Trung again, or to ship to Canada again. Great trader and a nice guy.
