  • Was supposed to be Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box...

javax.swing was the Buyer on October 9, 2004 RedFlagDeals

Pickup location/time arranged for Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box DVD. I was offering to pay his asking price. I showed up at pickup location, tried calling Bart 4 times on his cell, he did not reply; I left 4 messages. Waited around 40 minutes, Bart didn't show. I went home, checked my PMs, found out that Bart had sold the DVD set to another buyer who offered him a better price. He sent the PM at 10:52AM; we were supposed to meet between 12:00 and 1:00PM at a pickup spot which is almost an hour and a half away from my house. I had told Bart the evening before when we setup the deal that I would be downtown from 9am-1pm (without access to a computer).

Long and the short of it, he stood me up because I was *only* offering him his asking price. Ethically, once you've made a deal with someone and arranged pickup time/place, it's as good as sold. Not only did he make a deal with someone else, he didn't give me enough notice to know not to show up to do the deal, so I wasted 2xTTC (transit) fare ($4.50CAD) and over an hour of my time waiting and getting to/from the pickup location.

He admitted all of this in an RFD thread, so this is 100% fact, 0% speculation.

Bart, I hope the extra $15 you got by selling it to someone else was worth this negative. Everyone knows that when people read feedback, they read the negatives first.

yes I'm again very sorry I made a stupid rookie mistake and it won't happen again... I was also at work when I did this rushing and it didn't help and I just made a mistake. Sorry once again I offered a discount on other dvds for your trouble and you declined... I understand why but belive me I am sorry.

PERFECT transaction on a very high dollar item. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, nor with the service Najeeb gave. A great guy to deal with, and I would not hesitate to recommend Najeeb for all your Home Theatre needs. Thanks again!
