  • Sent $300 for LCD

Alptraum was the Buyer on January 2, 2005 AnandTech

12/07 I agree to purchase an LCD for $300. He has 40 some heat and I have 7 so I pay first. He says he will ship FedEx by the end of the week.

12/12 Says it shipped out. Says I will get tracking number later that night or on Monday. Says a relative shipped it.

Between 12/14 and 12/22 I leave a number of PM's and phone messages. Eventually he gets ahold of me by phone and tells me he sent it UPS through work (which contradicts the FedEx and the relative) and that he lost the tracking number on his desk. Assures me he will talk to the shipping department at his work to try to get another copy.

12/23 Sends me a $190 refund through Paypal. Says he had to open another checking account to send the rest and that he will get it to me within 72 hours. Says the package was damaged by FedEx (He has gone back and forth between FedEx and UPS all through this).

12/27 (11:47am) I send him another PM and phone message since I have not recieved the other $110 yet.

12/27 (10:26pm) I get the other $110. He sends it as a payment as opposed to a refund so I am charged $3.47 in fees.

12/28 I send him a PM about the fees. As of now I am still out the $3.47

1/03 Still no tracking number or refund of fees

    Response from instylz
Just want to clear things up here.

With this particular transaction I was in contact with the buyer the whole way through. This item was supposed to be originally mailed out by my relative via FedEx. My relative did not come through for me making me look bad. I contacted the buyer as soon as this was made known to me. I then tried to have this shipped from my job which uses either FedEx or UPS depending on the rate. This is why I was really unsure which shipper was used at first. Ultimately it was shipped via FedEx and was damaged which left me sol so I had to have it claimed. All fees assoc were refunded and I apologized to the seller for the way this transaction turned out. All in all I know mistakes were made the way this was handled but I kept in communication the whole time and refunded him 100% of all fees.

If anything this was a learning experience and as my other feedback shows I am a trustworthy guy and I do not try to intentionally rip people off.

  • Logitech DiNovo

Only issue was some small scratches on the mouse base. Other then that it was in the perfect description it was said to be in. And they were pretty minor and probably overlooked. Nice packaging and I would trade with again.

  • Was selling him an Xbox.

Alptraum was the Seller on October 3, 2004 AnandTech

He payed quickly and was a pleasure to deal with. In the end the deal fell through due to the Xbox not being in the condition I thought it was. So I refunded his money plus %5 as an apology. He was very understanding. Excellent guy.
