  • Attempted to buy a motherboard, processor, and ram from y0shi.

y0shi was the Seller on April 12, 2003 AnandTech

Posted a WTB on anandtech and y0shi responded and we agreed on a price. Despite repeated attempts to get tracking number or any communication, all pm's and emails went unanswered. Troll hunters were contacted. He finally responded after TH contacted him and said he wanted to still do the deal if I would send more money to him to take the place of the money paypal is holding. I do not want to deal with this trader and filed chargeback via paypal. Paypal is undergoing an investigation with y0shi, but I will not get the full amount of what I paid back in chargeback. y0shi is a dishonest and unreliable trader and should be avoided at all costs until he can get his act together.

    Response from y0shi
I am sorry for the mistake I made and made sure you received all of your money back from Paypal. You didn't loose a cent on me, though I deeply apologize for the waste of your time. Such a thing will not happen again with me.

  • 100GB WD100BB 7200RPM 2MB Cache Parallel ATA drive

    y0shi was the Seller on January 20, 2004 Other/Unknown

    I got the HDD it was not a 100GB WD100BB 7200RPM
2MB Cache Parallel ATA drive as advertised.
It was instead a magnetic data technologies drive.
this is a white label drive.
I was dissapointed at this fact.
The white label drive I got costs about 15-20 less.
    I could have ordered a new one(white label)for less.
I emailed him and was told it is the same thing as a retail label drive.
I dissagree and think he falsely advertised a retail label when he did not have one to sell.
He said he needed the retail labels for his raid setup and this one didnt work with his other ones.
He offered to make it right by selling me another drive for a lower price.
I would have paid about the same for both averaged as for 2 new drives (retail label) some deal!
BE CAREFULL WHEN DEALING WITH HIM!
Know exactly what you are getting before you buy.
Ask for pics and dont pay till you get the item to confirm it is as advertised.

    Response from y0shi
Buyer refused to work with me after I explained the situation, which was an honest mistake. I would have gladly traded drives for a WD labelled one had he given me the chance. Be careful when dealing with this, be on your toes or you may find yourself with a negative heatware for an honest mistake you would gladly of corrected once it was made.

  • I paid $15 for 2 120mm Panaflo fans.

y0shi was the Seller on July 8, 2003 AnandTech

It seems the buyer had an extreme case of bad luck. The fans took a little less than four months after my payment to come, but he did include a pair of fan grills and a velcro tie for the inconvenience. Communication was not very good either. Packaging wasn't all that great either, consisting of just some newspaper. I really wish that the long wait can be attributed to bad luck seeing as the fans did come in the end.

    Response from y0shi
Since shipping was a little over $6, $9 was all he had at stake. I'm surprised at the negative feedback, though I can't say I blame you. Aren't all situations where the other party receives their goods rewarded with neutral feedback at worst? O well, enjoy the fans.

  • This is what he advertized: 30 ea.<.....>(4) Crucial PC2100 NON-REG NON-ECC 256MB Modules with Copper Heatspreader on each Dimm. I paid for two of these RAM sticks from y0shi.

y0shi was the Seller on April 3, 2003 AnandTech

He did NOT ship when he said he would, and only shipped a week later when I asked him why I hadn't received them. What he shipped me was two PLAIN Crucial RAM sticks that did NOT have copper heat spreaders. I wrote him immediately about the problem, and he has NEVER contacted me even once since. I sent him PMs and eMails to the address he gave me. He has Trolled two other traders besides myself. He is a TROLL and I hope he is banned from online trading. Very NEGATIVE rating from me.

    Response from y0shi
I have since made things right by buying 2 brand new heatspreaders and mailing them to him. He has since given his approval of me to the Anandtech moderators and I am allowed to trade once again. I am sorry for my lapse of good judgement, it will not happen again.

  • Radeon 9800 Pro

y0shi was the Seller on October 30, 2003 AnandTech

This has been the worst trading experience i've had over the years by far.

After agreeing on the deal and sending a money order for the agreed on price, y0shi said he would ship the card with cables.

A few days go by and I dont receive any word from him about having shipped the card. Tried emailing and pming him on Anandtech.

Finally after a week from when he had confirmed receipt of the money order, I had gotten fed up and contacted the Anandtech mods. I was finally able to get in contact with y0shi through AIM. I was very upset when he told me that he had shipped it that day, a week after he had already received the money order. If he had notified me I wouldn't have been as angry but he decided to just wait till I had contacted him about the whole situation.

Received the card in the mail finally. I was once again shocked to see that he had packaged an expensive video card with only an anti-static bag shoved into a priority mail box and missing the promised cables! No cushioning at all.

That being said, I still have not gotten a response about the missing cables and have just effectively given up on it.

My warning to future traders...make him ship first or better yet, don't trade with him at all.

  • Sold Ali 6 Newly formatted, under warranty 100GB Western digital hard drives and 1 brand new Cendyne dvd burner.

y0shi was the Buyer on February 28, 2003 AnandTech

Based on heatware I had no worries...I sent out the drives, he was supposed to send out my money order at the same time. 3 days later, my package had been received at his dorm, but he seemed to be ignoring my pm's, e-mails, and AIM inquiries. Finally I called him. He said he was sick. Said he would paypal me most of my money that day, but I would have to wait 3 more days for the rest. When I didn't get paypal or hear from him, I called him again and he said he would send it right out. When I heard nothing, I AIM'ed him and he finally sent it.
While I did finally get my money and he sent the complete amount, I was not happy with the way things went. I had two very sleepless nights while I was waiting to hear back from him, only to hear that he wouldn't have all my money for three more days! I will be generous & give a neutral rating as he did sound sick on the phone, and he did make things right in the end.
