  • Sold a Cooler Master Hyper 212 heatsink/fan combo. Very communicative, very quick on the feedback!

JTD121 was the Seller on September 23, 2014 ArsTechnica

Comments because they are required. Sakoteh is a beautiful Brazilian standing under a waterfall.

  • I traded 7 sticks of PC3200 RAM for a Casio Exilim EX-Z750. Took a bit for him to send the camera, but all was good.

    Cross-traded on November 1, 2006 ArsTechnica

This camera is teh awesome! Would definately do business with him again, no question!

  • Bought Vantec Stealth fans. Quick communication, prompt shipping.

JTD121 was the Buyer on February 9, 2007 ArsTechnica

Made my case quite a bit quieter, especially since my CPU HSF is a Volcano 11+

  • Went into the Freebies thread looking for some Dell PA-12 AC adapters. Eventually found a box with three *brand new* of such, and Carroll wanted one or two. I personally only needed the one I was looking for, and packed two up and mailed out same-day.

JTD121 was the Seller on June 16, 2014 ArsTechnica

Communication was great, prompt payment (even though shipping was a tiny bit more expensive than anticipated), and even left feedback when he got them!

Greatly appreciated, would deal with again on any size transaction!

  • Bought a 7k60 laptop drive from him.

    JTD121 was the Buyer on April 3, 2006 Other/Unknown

Was prompt with all responses to questions, requests. Used packing peanuts, but overall was a very good guy. Would definately do business with him again.

  • Was looking to revive a mid-00 Dell PC with some fresher parts. Came with an 800MHz P3 EB (133MHz bus), and a paltry 256MB of ECC RDRAM in two sticks. Fine for the minimal work it was supposed to be doing under Windows 2000, but XP has a larger appetite. Jason here had FOUR 512MB RIMMs in the ECC flavor I was looking for. Traded some anecdotes and knowledge, and was overall a great experience.

JTD121 was the Buyer on February 10, 2016 ArsTechnica

Very well-packaged, RIMMs were even 'Dell Certified' and first set of two worked immediately.

Probably going to do more deals with Jason in the future; old or new hardware, any amount!

  • Sold the following 'antique' Technology items: Sony PCGA-51 PC Card 24x CD-ROM (yes, CD-ROM) D-Link WNA1330 PC Card (Yes, an 'external' WiFi card) SSD Mounting Kit from an Intel SSD (no branding, just nice cryptic fact of its origin)

JTD121 was the Seller on August 20, 2013 ArsTechnica

During the transaction negotiation phase, J4s0n (last name redacted) was very humble about my shipping all these things to him. I told him, and do believe 'As long as they will go to a better home than the museum mine has been'....Okay, not those *exact* words, but basic idea.

Anyway, he was wonderful to deal with, again, very humble, since I was making nothing on these items. Though I still have to admit, I could have gone to eBay and probably made quite a killing on that Sony CD-ROM, I would feel bad, knowing someone could have used it for whatever interesting project J4s0n had in mind. I hope it's interesting anyway. And I wish he would keep me in the loop, if at all possible.

  • Bought a much sought-after WRT54G that can run third-party firmware for a fair price. Got here well-packed in original box with everything that came with it.

JTD121 was the Buyer on May 1, 2007 ArsTechnica

Unfortunately, it was still configured for his network, but nothing a hard reset couldn\'t fix! :)

  • Was on the lookout for some working DDR2 SO-DIMMS and a small SSD to refurbish an old laptop. DM here offered one, then the other, and shipped them out the same day, and they both arrived safely. Would trade with again, no questions!

JTD121 was the Buyer on August 4, 2014 ArsTechnica

Installed and working perfectly! And cheaper than Newegg/Amazon/etc, too! Ten Words, huh?

    August 11, 2014

  • Was looking for a T60-era battery, didn't need to hold a lot of a charge; just enough to update the BIOS/EC, and an AC adapter

JTD121 was the Buyer on November 17, 2016 ArsTechnica

Worked out well for me! It's sitting here charging a bit before I update. Communication updates were swift and informative! Would trade with again!

JTD121 was the Seller on April 14, 2014 ArsTechnica
