  • I had a WTB thread up looking for a replacement for a failed ECS K7S5A & I mentioned that the BIOS had gone flaky on the failed board. Steve posted that he had pulled the BIOS chip from a board that failed without apparent damage to the BIOS & offered to send it if I sent a couple of bucks to Pete for Beerology. I though that was a great idea, so I sent Pete $5 & Steve sent it out 1st Class Mail in a processor case with padding, inside a padded envelop. It got to me in perfect condition.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on August 15, 2004 ArsTechnica

I have traded with Steve before & I am sure I will again. Excellent trader!

  • Brent had a FS thread up on the Agora with among other things a Gigabyte GA-7ZXE mobo, Athlon 1.2 GHz T-Bird & RAM pulled from his mom?ÇÖs PC in an upgrade. He disclosed that the T-Bird ran hot & had a couple of chips that didn?ÇÖt affect performance. We reached a deal via email with Brent even agreeing to include a Thermalright SK-6 heatsink free with the very reasonably priced package. Brent?ÇÖs emails were prompt & pleasant. I sent a Postal Money Order & Brent shipped Priority with Delivery Confirmation. The components arrived quickly & were well packed. When I examined the mobo I saw that one of the capacitors was significantly swollen & another had signs of swelling, a common problem with boards of this era. I emailed Brent with this information & he explained that he hadn?ÇÖt noticed this & offered to take back the board & refund a significant portion of the money from the purchase. I decided to assemble the system & I told Brent that if the system passed 24 hours of Prime95 in torture-test mode & I was able to complete the installation of Windows, I would consider it a done deal with no need of a return. I used the excellent Thermalright SK-6 heatsink Brent had kindly included with the deal in combination with an NMB 80mm fan. This combination did a fantastic job of cooling the toasty 1.2 GHz T-Bird, with idle temps of 43C & after 28 hours of Prime95, temps never rose above 49C. I successfully installed Windows & applications without issue.

It?ÇÖs easy for a trade to be smooth when there are no problems, it is how a trader handles problems that arise that separates the really good traders from the rest. I feel that Brent handled this trade perfectly. I hope to have an opportunity to trade with Brent again in the future & I have no problem recommending him to others.

  • Corey replied to my WTB thread in the Agora looking for an iPhone 4S. We negotiated an agreeable price; I paid via PayPal & Corey shipped the white 4S, 32 GB very promptly.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on November 19, 2013 ArsTechnica

Corey was patient when I had some difficulty with my PayPal account. The phone arrived in perfect condition & very well packaged. Corey was very prompt with communication & did some research when I had a problem getting the iPhone to work in our Bose dock. The problem appears to be related to iOS 7, not a hardware issue with the connector or phone.

Prompt communications and shipping, smooth trade all 'round.

    Recommended trader.

  • I had a WTB thread up on the Agora looking for a mATX socket 370 mobo to replace a failed board in an ?Ç£EVIL?Ç¥ eMachine. Clint offered an ECS P6SEP-Me Micro-ATX motherboard at a very fair price. He even located the backplate for it. We reached a deal via email & Clint?ÇÖs were prompt & pleasant. I PayPal?ÇÖd & Clint shipped USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation. I received the board very well packaged in short order. Unfortunately, the board failed to post which was almost certainly attributable to other failed components in the ?Ç£EVIL?Ç¥ eMachine. Clint offered to refund the purchase price, but I declined as I am pretty certain the board died here :-)

There was no way this drive was going to be damaged in shipping! :-)

  • Steve had a thread up on the Agora with a Dell Inspiron 1100, 2.3 GHz Celeron, 256mb, 30gb, DVD with laptop bag & accessories at a very fair price. A co-worker was looking for a laptop for his church to use for multimedia presentations & this laptop fit the bill nicely. Steve & I emailed & then spoke by phone a couple of times to firm up the details of the transaction. Since Steve doesn?ÇÖt use PayPal, we agreed to cross-ship. Steve shipped the laptop UPS Ground in the original shipping box. My bank decided to place a ?Ç£hold?Ç¥ on the check from my co-worker, so I was unable to mail the cashier?ÇÖs check till 3-days later & Steve was very gracious about this. The laptop arrived in perfect condition, in the original box with all original CD?ÇÖs, accessories & everything Steve described in the thread.
