I listed transaction type as "Bought", but donated is more accurate; Mike offered up the core components of his "first system", an Asus TX97-XV, P233 processor, RAM & PSU for the cost of shipping. I took him up on his generous offer to use the components to build a system for someone who can ill afford to buy a computer. We corresponded & Mike's communication was prompt & pleasant. I PayPal'd enough to cover shipping & Mike shipped. The packages arrived very quickly & packaging was excellent.

I look forward to trading with Mike again in the future.

I had a thread up on the Agora looking for a video card that would permit a friend?ÇÖs son to play ?Ç£Lord OfThe Rings?Ç¥ on a Presario with integrated graphics. Dan offered a GF4 MX card with 64mb of VRAM at no charge! This was a very kind gesture, as the person who this was for could ill afford the purchase of a video card. Dan even included the games Diablo, Homeworld, and Counterstrike with the card.

Dan is an asset to the trading community~

I had a thread in the Agora looking for some older DDR Laptop RAM. Josh replied with an offer of a pair of 512s. We discussed it by email & I ended up getting another pair of 256mb sticks & a mini-PCI wireless adapter as well. I sent PayPal & Josh shipped USPS Insured with delivery confirmation. The envelope arrived a few days later, with everything in antistatic packaging. I was able to use 2 of the sticks & the mini-PCI wireless adapter right away & brought a ?Ç£parts?Ç¥ laptop back to a fully functional laptop.

Paul posted a list of nice stuff in the \"Perpetual Freebies Thread\" in the Agora (Ars Technica) & I indicated that I could use them for inexpensive systems for those who needed them locally. For the cost of shipping Paul shipped 2 x 64mb RDRam, an ASUS 32mb AGP video card, a GeForce 32mb AGP video card, a TNT2 Ultra 32mb AGP video card, HP CD-Writer & a DVD-ROM. Packaging was excellent, as was communication throughout.

I say ?Ç£traded?Ç¥, because Blair was kind enough to answer my plea in the \"Perpetual Freebies Thread\" on the Agora of Ars Technica for small capacity Compact Flash media cards. He sent several Kodak 8MB Compact Flash cards. They arrived very quickly in a padded mailer.

Communication was prompt & pleasant, shipping speedy & the price was right! ;-) The trade was his cards for ?Ç£Good Will?Ç¥, aka ?Ç£pay it forward. :-)
There should be more traders like Blair. Recommended Trader.

I bought a Linksys WRT54G router from Jason on the Agora.
TangleWeb was the Buyer on September 2, 2005 ArsTechnica
Jason posted to another trader's WTB thread looking for a Linksys WRT54G router saying that he had one available. The original poster found one, so I contacted Jason to see if it was still available. We came to terms via email & Jason?ÇÖs were prompt & clear. Jason was willing to wait for me to sell my old router & some other stuff to come up with the funds. I sent PayPal & Jason shipped. I received the router very quickly. I set it up & couldn?ÇÖt get it to pick up an ip address from my ISP. I notified Jason immediately & called Linksys for troubleshooting. It ended up being a MAC address issue resolved by some advanced black magic (MAC address cloning), Jason responded promptly with the same advice Linksys had given, though much more concise :-) Jason clearly has networking skills.
I would be happy to trade with Jason again anytime.

I purchased several items from Ricky. The whole transaction started with his generosity. He posted to my thread offering to send a microphone at no charge, other than shipping for an aspiring young singer wanting to record herself on the PC. He then put up a FS thread of his own that had several items I needed. A scanner, cordless phone, etc. I paid via PayPal.

Ricky shipped right away. The items were extremely well packaged & Ricky even included a couple of games at no charge! (Retail, still sealed in original shrink-wrap!)
Great transaction, great communication! I would not hesitate to do business with Ricky again. Highly recommended.

I have always said that the difference between average traders & excellent traders is how they handle trades where difficulties occur. Chris handled this ?Ç£difficult trade?Ç¥ with grace & patience. I posted a WTB thread on the Agora looking for a Socket A board to replace a failed board in a system. Chris posted with an offer of an MSI K7T266 Pro, Volcano 6 HS & 256mb stick of Crucial DDR RAM. He believed the board to be good, but the CPU installed had fried. I was to test the board & once I verified that the board was good, send PayPal. I received the board very quickly & as always, Chris?ÇÖs packaging is second-to-none. Initial testing indicated that the board was bad & I emailed Chris informing him of this fact. Due to circumstances in my personal life I didn?ÇÖt perform further testing until MUCH later, almost 3 weeks in fact. In the interim I ordered a new Socket A board & PSU from Newegg to use in further testing & once I performed the additional testing, I found that the board I bought from Chris was in fact good, it was the PSU that had failed, even though it passed a rudimentary test with an ATX Power Supply Tester.
TangleWeb was the Buyer on October 22, 2005 ArsTechnica
Chris stayed in constant communication throughout the process & was very patient, even though his circumstances were such that the proceeds from this board were to offset the cost of upgrades in one of his systems.
I would trade with Chris any time & I highly recommend him to others.
