  • I listed myself as the \"buyer\", but GC actually sent out a Windows OS DVD at no cost, as a favor. I have a friend with a laptop with a COA/License, but no media.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on March 5, 2010 ArsTechnica

It is this spirit of helpfulness that makes the Agora Classifieds in the Ars Technica OpenForum community such a great place.

    Thanks GC!

  • Jason posted a WTB thread on the Agora looking for an inexpensive Thinkpad laptop on which to run BSD. I had an IBM Thinkpad 380Z that fit the bill nicely, so posted to the thread. We corresponded by email to finalize the deal. Jason?ÇÖs emails were prompt & pleasant, even when he had to find an ?Ç£Internet Caf???Ç¥ while out of town attending a conference. I tested, packaged & shipped & Jason PayPal?ÇÖd immediately, even including a couple of extra bucks when he did.

TangleWeb was the Seller on October 28, 2004 ArsTechnica

Over-all a very smooth trade. I would be happy to trade with Jason again anytime.

  • This is just the last of many deals Al & I have done & this is the second complete system I have purchased from him. Like the last system, this one was packed very well. UPS "tried" to damage it based on the condition of the box, but Al's packing assured that it arrived in good condition. Al?ÇÖs email communication was prompt & pleasant & the deal was as smooth as all the others.

  • This feedback is long overdue & well deserved :-) On July 2nd, 2003 I posted a thread on the Agora looking for an inexpensive system for a worthy friend with little money. Al responded & ultimately built a system from scratch to fill the need. He ordered the parts, assembled & tested it. I think he did this more to help out, than to make a buck. I PayPal?ÇÖd the money & not long after received a very nice system, well constructed with good cable management & cooling. Packaging was very good as well. Email communication was always prompt & pleasant. It has now been over a year since Al built the system, it is in use every day & is still going strong.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on July 25, 2003 ArsTechnica

Al is one of the better traders on the Agora. I would be happy to trade with him again & wouldn?ÇÖt hesitate recommend him to others.

Eugene PayPal?ÇÖd immediately for his 2 cables.

  • Kerry had a FS thread up on the Agora with an AMD Athlon 1600+, a 120mm x 38mm Panaflo & a socket A heatsink/fan. We came to agreement via email with Kerry?ÇÖs being prompt & pleasant.

Kerry was understanding when there was a delay on my end sending PayPal. I received his shipment very quickly, USPS Priority & the packing job was excellent! Extra points for the creative use of a CD cakebox :-) What I thought was going to be a cheapie HS/Fan, or an AMD OEM, was in fact a solid copper coolermaster heatsink with matching fan. I would trade with Kerry any time.

  • I was in dire need of a Mini PCI modem\NIC combo card for a Dell Latitude laptop. Jason (?Ç£Bad Monkey?Ç¥ on Ars Technica) had two from recent upgrades & offered them at a very fair price. I received the cards very quickly once payment through PayPal was made.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on October 2, 2005 ArsTechnica

There was a significant delay on my end, as I was brokering the deal between my employer & Jason & the person making payment was out of town. Jason was very understanding & maintained close communication throughout the deal. Packaging was first-rate with each card in anti-static bag & bubble-wrap envelope & then wrapped in more bubble-wrap in a sturdy box.

I would be happy to trade with Jason (Bad Monkey on Ars Technica) any time.
