CODlaptops (19)
Bought an OEM Barton XP 2500+ from ATIlaptops.
jiffylube1024 was the Buyer on June 14, 2004 AnandTech
ATIlaptops is a great trader. I asked him to ship first due to his low post count, and he complied.
We both had a couple of minor misunderstandings, but I think it worked out perfectly in the end.
The first mishap was that he lost my contact info - not a big problem - I resent it as soon as I realized he was going around the boards asking for me. Then I forgot to send payment immediately after it arrived - I had forgotten that I told him to ship first.
Anyways, I sent him the money as soon as I realized I haden\'t sent the funds over. I got the chip on the 8th of June and sent over the funds on the 13th (I still hadn\'t tested it yet, but I did on the 14th - it works great!).
So, all in all, I think it was a good trade and it worked out fine. I sent him a couple extra bucks for shipping and for not paying for 4-5 days.
Thanks again!June 14, 2004

northern (218)
Sold a motherboard and CPU combo to my northern buddy.
jiffylube1024 was the Buyer on February 7, 2005 RedFlagDeals
CPU was DOA AFAIK, so I RSVP'd a NEW CPU ASAP without doing an RMA.
Seriously I sold northern a CPU/motherboard combo. The CPU was DOA (it wasn't when I shipped it, but these things happen - most probably Canada Post), so I sent out a new one which thankfully Canada Post didn't play touch football with (or perhaps they just fumbled it instead of going long).
Northern is a great trader and I wouldn't hesitate to trade with him again. Communication was excellent.
Sorry for the delay on FB - in all the back and forth email hulabaloo I forgot to leave it .

Kerby1280 (21)
Bought an ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard from Ker.
jiffylube1024 was the Buyer on September 12, 2006 AnandTech
He came through in the clutch, and for that he is to be praised.
We agreed on a price for the board on August 23. I paid for the board that night, and he said he would ship it out ASAP.
11 days later (!!!), on the 3rd of September, he messages me telling me that an unexpected business trip came up and that he didn\'t ship the board yet. His reasoning was that shipping was a bit more expensive ($20) than he anticipated. Fair enough, but he should have told me right away (or shipped it and told me about the extra cost later --- I would have covered it). To tell someone 11 days after the fact that it wasn\'t shipped because shipping was a bit more expensive can really mess with their plans (this was to go into my PC which I wanted up and running before University classes began on the 7th of September.
He did ask me if I still wanted to go through with the deal on the 3rd and I said yes.
Four days later (7th of Sept) I asked if the package was shipped. It wasn\'t (!!), although he had now set up a Fed Ex shipping account.
At this point, knowing I wouldn\'t get the board for a week at least (and probably longer due to customs), I found the same board from someone locally, bought it and set it up on the weekend (so this wouldn\'t drag on well into the school year).
I got word the following day (Sept 8th) from Ker that the board was shipped by Fed Ex, and he would pay the extra shipping fees.
The board arrived today (Sept 13), in record time (passed duty very quickly). Everything was packaged splendidly, and after a couple crashes (probably b/c I didn\'t clear CMOS initially), it\'s working beautifully.
Until the past week, I was planning on giving him a neutral for his severe tardiness. But he shored up and did a great job in the end - he told me he\'d cover the extra cost, shipped it and delivered it in great condition (due to being properly packed).
Because he went the extra mile at the end, he gets a positive. Bad traders try to blame you for screwing up. Good traders admit when they make a mistake and do what?ÇÖs in their power to fix it. He fixed it.
Thanks for the board Ker!

HeatSeeker (7)
Bought a Plextor CDRW from HeatSeeker.
jiffylube1024 was the Buyer on October 3, 2003 RedFlagDeals
Well, the deal didnt go off perfectly, due to stubbornness of both parties (I wanted him to ship first since he had no heatware but he insisted).
But it wasn't a lot of money so I finally conceded, and he came through as promised, keeping in touch the whole way through.
He's an excellent seller, and a very good guy to deal with, so I'm sure many more positives are to come!October 3, 2003
