Bought 40GB hdd that was negligently packaged and arrived damaged beyond use.

Seller packed drive with no padding around edges of it. It arrived with the plastic connector smashed. Refused full refund, ONLY offered refund if I returned drive at my expense, which would have been over half the cost of the drive, or, considering my cost to get the drive, the entire cost of the drive.
After running MHDD surface check utility on the drive I discovered it was completely damaged beyond use, even though it would kind of work(ie. it could be recognized by the os, but that was all, pretty much..). Unfortuneately, I took the sellers reluctant offer of a $5. refund for the damage.
Totally unsatisfying experience, the seller didn\\\'t pack the drive properly, it was VERY POORLY PACKAGED, and the damage was entirely as a result of this poor packaging.
This is the reason I felt it was the sellers obligation to refund fully, including any/all shipping, including return shipping if the seller so desired the item returned.
I provided proof of the damage.
I can not recommend this seller because good packing is common sense and damage resulting from negligent packaging is solely the responsibility of the sender.

Well, the deal didnt go off perfectly, due to stubbornness of both parties (I wanted him to ship first since he had no heatware but he insisted).

But it wasn't a lot of money so I finally conceded, and he came through as promised, keeping in touch the whole way through.

He's an excellent seller, and a very good guy to deal with, so I'm sure many more positives are to come!
