  • Mike had a FS thread up on the Agora with a pair of Logitech X-220 2.1 speakers for $20 shipped. I replied in thread, we came to terms via email with Mike?ÇÖs being prompt & concise. We agreed to cross-ship, I sent a Postal Money Order, Mike shipped USPS with delivery confirmation. The speakers arrived in perfect shape & were packaged VERY well, Mike used double boxing & Styrofoam stand-off s to protect the speakers. They look like new & sound GREAT!

This was a perfect trade & I would be happy to trade with Mike again any time.

  • James posted a nice list of schtuff in the Perpetual Freebies Thread, in the Agora, on Ars Technica. The list included an Otterbox case for the iPhone 4, 2 sets of very nice headphones (Sony & the Aiwa), some speakers, an IDE to SATA adapter, among many other items. Having just purchased a new (to me) iPhone 4S, the case, headphones & speakers were just what I needed & since I?ÇÖd managed to break my oft used IDE to SATA adapter, that came in very handy as well.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on December 25, 2013 ArsTechnica

As always, James?ÇÖ communications was lightning fast & he shipped immediately, even though busy with the holidays. The box arrived in good shape, as it was packed very well & included a couple of ?Ç£extras?Ç¥, we hadn?ÇÖt even discussed.

There?ÇÖs a reason James is #6 on the Leaderboard of Heatware. He?ÇÖs a prolific & more importantly, premier trader. He is one of the top contributors to the Perpetual Freebies Thread as well.

  • Another smooth deal with Mike. I bought the parts from his old Pavilion PC earlier & as we talked following the deal I realized he still had the case that the parts came from. Mike agreed to send it for the cost of shipping. As before communications was excellent & packaging was first rate. Mike even sent the front bezel when he found it after shipping the case.

  • Julius had a FS thread up & I responded. I purchased a Linksys USB10T Network adapter. E-mail communications were prompt & pleasant, we reached agreement, I sent PayPal, Julius shipped. I received it very quickly, Julius having sent it Priority Mail & the Network Adapter was VERY well packaged.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on March 20, 2003 ArsTechnica

All-in-all, a swift easy deal. I wish they were all this good. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Julius again. Recommended trader. (NOTE: I'm composing this at work using the Network Adapter I purchased from Julius. You'd never know it was 10Base T, not 100. Works great!)

  • I had a post up in the Perpetual Freebies thread in the Agora Classifieds looking for 3 sticks of PC133 SDRam for a friend\'s old system to get them a little extra time out of it. Blair offered up a pair of Crucial sticks & sent them out right away in a padded mailer.

  • Ken had two Compaq EVOs for sale on Ars Technica, in the Agora; we negotiated by email with Ken\'s being responsive & cordial. We reached an agreement, with Ken even upgrading the RAM & installing a CD-RW drive in one. By agreement, I paid 2/3 in advance with PayPal & the balance a week after delivery.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on August 31, 2006 ArsTechnica

I appreciate Ken\'s willingness to take a partial payment with the balance after delivery & also his willingness to hold the systems for a time, till I had the funds. I received the systems in good time & found them well packed. They both were in perfect working condition & as described.

I would be happy to trade with Ken again & I\'m sure we will.

  • Well, this is the most unusual deal I've been involved in on Agora! I purchased a 1996 Plymouth Neon car from Travis for my daughter. It was also one of the best deals I've done on Agora! Travis posted a FS thread & we discussed it by e-mail for some time before the details were hammered out. The main issue being that he's in Michigan & I'm in South Carolina. Once we came to terms, I sent Travis a down payment which he used to have some brake work done & he even had the oil changed & the car "detailed", which was never part of the deal. I really appreciated that! My wife & daughter were visiting friends in Michigan & Travis drove over an hour to deliver the car to them. My wife gave him the rest of the money at that time. Travis even left a couple partial rolls of CAT5 in the car (& an RC Cola :-)

TangleWeb was the Buyer on February 24, 2003 ArsTechnica

My daughter LOVES the car & I like that I get to have the family car back! The only disappointment was that I wasn't able to meet Travis in person when he delivered the car. This is the second deal I've done with Travis & I highly recommend him!

  • This may be an all time record for late feedback :-) On January 31st Steve had a FS thread up with among other things, an Antec PP300XP - 300W power supply. We came to terms via email, I PayPal\'d & Steve shipped Priority with Delivery Confirmation. Somehow the box got buried under some other stuff & I never even opened it! I came across it today (Jan 2nd, 2006) getting ready to move to our new house. Talk about your time capsule! :-)

TangleWeb was the Buyer on February 10, 2004 ArsTechnica

This is at least my third trade with Steve, though it may have been the second at the time & all have been smooth as silk. I would be happy to trade with Steve any time.

  • This is my second smooth deal with Mark. I had a FS thread up offering a pair of bufferred ECC 128mb DIMMS, Mark was interestested & we reached an agreement via e-mail. Correspondence was prompt & pleasant. Mark PayPal''d & I shipped USPS Priority with DC.

TangleWeb was the Seller on April 25, 2003 ArsTechnica

This is how it's supposed to work :) I would be happy to trade with Mark again anytime.

  • I purchased a Crucial 256mb PC2100 DDR RAM DIMM from Steve's thread. Paid with a money order.

  • Craig posted to the \"Perpetual Freebies Thread\" on the Agora as \"CDG (his new nick) needing 4 64mb sticks of PC100 SDRam for a dualie server to run Linux. He had 3 sticks of PC66 SDRam to trade. I had a bunch of 64\'s from upgrades, so sent him 4 & he sent me his 3.

    Cross-traded on March 27, 2006 ArsTechnica

The whole deal was very smooth, with Craig\'s communication being prompt & pleasant. I would trade again with Craig without hesitation.

  • I had a WTB thread up on the Agora looking for a bare-bones affordable system. Aaron (phobia) posted with a nice offer & we ironed out the trade via email. Aaron?ÇÖs communication was prompt, pleasant & detailed. He disclosed a couple of minor issues, which didn?ÇÖt affect my decision to purchase, but I was very pleased by the detail & honesty of the description. This is what I expect of a trader & is what separates the really good traders from the ?Ç£rest?Ç¥. I PayPal?ÇÖd & Aaron shipped. I received the PC nicely packaged in the original case box. I prefer double boxing, but the system arrived undamaged, in part because Aaron had taken the precaution of removing the very robust heatsink\fan & packaging it separately within the case. He included all the case parts & motherboard manual.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on December 14, 2004 ArsTechnica

This was an excellent trade & how all trades of this type should unfold. I would be happy to trade with Aaron again any time.
