  • This is probably the longest trade I have been involved in :) Rhasan & I reached an agreement where I purchased a Dell Optiplex GX1 from him on Sept 23rd **2002**. Shipping was a little slow & I received the system Oct. 7th I ended up using another system for the purpose I had intended the Dell for, so didn't bench the system right away. When I did, I discovered that the BIOS was corrupt & the system was un-bootable. I emailed Rhasan on Nov. 30th 2002 with the details of the problem, then again on Dec. 8th when I had not received a response. He replied that evening & agreed to send out a replacement systemboard. He indicated he shipped it on Dec. 14th, but I never received it. Unfortunately tracking was not used. He emailed on Dec. 31st stating he would ship another board that following Monday Jan. 2nd 2003 with tracking & email the tracking number to me. I did not receive an email & the board never arrived. I put the system aside at this point & didn?ÇÖt do anything with it. I pulled the system out again Dec. 6th 2003 & remembered that Rhasan & I had an un-resolved deal. I emailed & Rhasan quickly replied and was very apologetic for dropping the ball on the mobo replacement. He shipped the board right away, I received it in short order & it was very well packaged. I finally replaced the board today (Jan 4th 2004) & the system works perfectly!

TangleWeb was the Buyer on January 3, 2004 ArsTechnica

I am posting this as a neutral because Rhasan did resolve the issue in the end. He could have simply said too much time had passed & that he fulfilled his obligation by shipping one board, though it wasn?ÇÖt received. I think Rhasan is an ethical trader, I just think he is sometimes very busy & has a hard time keeping all the balls in the air.

Despite this somewhat ?Ç£lengthy?Ç¥ deal, I would trade with Rhasan again.

  • Jerry had a thread up on the Agora stating that he was collecting license plates & I had one from the state of SC \"Smiling Faces. Beautiful Places\" & sent it out for the cost of shipping.

Jerry PayPal\'d the shipping cost immediately & was prompt in responding to emails. I\'d trade with Jerry again any time.

Thanks Robert & I hope we have a chance to trade again.

  • Yung had up a FS thread & one of the items was a Linksys router. I needed one for a neighbor, so I posted interest in the thread & e-mailed Yung. E-mail communication from Yung was very prompt & we worked out the details; Yung agreed to cross ship with me sending a bank cashier's check & him shipping the router. Yung had a lot going on & forgot that we were cross-shipping; when he realized the oversight; he shipped the router over-nite at significant expense to himself. In addition he included a nice 5-port high-speed hub at no additional charge. Due to the fact that he over-nited the router, I received it in the same time frame that the cross-ship would have provided. Packaging was excellent & the router was in the original retail box with documentation & CD. This was a pleasant surprise as I was not aware this was the case.

TangleWeb was the Buyer on July 17, 2003 ArsTechnica

I mention the details to point out Yung?ÇÖs excellent trading ethics & practices; he went almost to extreme to make up for a very small oversight. I would not hesitate to trade with Yung again & rate him a ?Ç£recommended trader?Ç¥.

  • Jammer53 is definitely one of the better traders on Agora! I was troubleshooting what turned out to be failed MSI K7T motherboard in CPU & Motherboard Technologia & Jim posted several times with helpful advice. Eventually it became clear that the motherboard had failed. As luck would have it, Jim was upgrading his system that had a similar MSI board, so he posted it, his AMD 1800+ processor & 512mb of SDRam on the Agora & emailed me to let me know. The price was more than fair, so I PayPal?ÇÖd & Jim shipped. I received it in good time & the packaging was excellent. When I installed it in the system to replace the failed board it booted fine, but Windows failed to install. It turns out that other components in the system were bad as well, but all was well after replacing the hard drive. Jim communicated helpful advice throughout the testing process via email.

I would be happy to trade with Jim any time!

  • Sorry for the delinquent feedback, Scott! Sometimes a deal goes so smoothly, you forget the feedback. That's my excuse an I'm sticking to it! :-) Anyway, I bought a stick of generic RAM from Scott that he had posted in a FS thread. I PayPal'd & he shipped very quickly

  • This is my third laptop deal with Dan on the Agora & went as smoothly as the first two. The lady who I bought the last one was so happy she showed her friends & co-workers & 2 of them wanted one :-) I paid for one up front & Dan waited VERY patiently till I was able to get the money from the second person, which took a while. Packaging was excellent as it was with the other shipments. This is my third laptop deal with Dan & went as smoothly as the first two. • Another flawless deal with Tom; this is either my 4th or 5th trade with Tom & like the others before, it was an excellent deal. Tom had a FS thread up & I posted interest in some memory, a NIC & a hard drive. Tom needed a USB keyboard & I had a nice one, so we traded & I PayPal'd the difference. Tom shipped Parcel Post & it arrived very quickly (even though I wasn't home to get it & had to pick it up after the long weekend :-)

    Cross-traded on September 1, 2003 ArsTechnica

When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Tom had shipped a nice 4.3 GB Western Digital hard drive in place of the 3 GB because when he tested the 3 GB it had a few bad sectors. This type of thing is what separates the good traders from the mediocre ones. Tom is definitely one of the better traders on the Agora as reflected by his feedback. I would not hesitate to trade with him any time (in fact I may be buying another whole system from him shortly :-)

    Recommended trader.

  • I bought a nice older Celeron 400 Mhz system from Tom for a co-worker, so it HAD to be right. Tom & I negotiated by e-mail & as usual Tom's communication was prompt & pleasant. Tom understood when I needed to delay a couple of days for financial reasons. I PayPal''d & Tom shipped the system. It arrived in good time & was VERY well packed. This was a fairly large heavy mid-tower system & it arrived in an even bigger, very well padded box. The system was very clean inside & out. I look forward to trading with Tom again.

This is my 3rd ultra-smooth trade with Tom. (I think I missed a Heat entry for one of them)

[Side Note] I purchased a Slot-T adapter & a Celeron FC-PGA2 1.2 Ghz processor for this system & it ROCKS!
