  • Memory Purchased- The TRUTH!

aconway was the Seller on October 14, 2002 AnandTech

Ok I've had all I can stand of Mr. John Heilman?ÇÖs (aka..Ezduzit , Ezone & Porky) aimless attempt to make me look like the bad guy in this whole deal. To whom ever wants to read this, you can draw your own conclusions. Please read it all!
This is my only attempt to spell out the TRUTH. He has spread his lies long enough and has repeatably tried to ruin my reputation. I have traded MANY more years than he has ever thought of, and have NEVER had a problem! BEWARE !
And whatever you do, DON?ÇÖT ever ship first !
    1. He agreed to purchase my memory. I plainly told him that I did not know how fast it would actually run, and that all I know is what AIB says. I told him that I didn?ÇÖt have a MB that overclocks well enough to try it on.
    2. He wanted me to ship first, which I did.
    3. He ALSO agreed to send me the payment via Paypal as soon as he received it. He did NOT do this. I tracked it and seen that he had received it, and he would not answer my emails. It was like 2 days later that I called him on the phone. I told him I saw that it arrived and ask him about the payment. He spouted off that ?Ç£its not worth a shit, either?Ç¥ I said what do you mean? He stated that he had tried it out and that it was not any better than the memory that he had. I firmly told him to send it back then. I emailed him and told him I expect it shipped out ASAP, via U.S.Priority mail, just the way I shipped it to him. He then emailed me (1st foul mouthed email) that he?ÇÖd ship it any damn way he wanted! THEN, he emails me back in just a little while saying that he would just keep it, since he was going to pay for shipping anyway!! I said ok. He then finally, sent me my money for it via Paypal. He had this opportunity to send it back, and chose not too! REMEMBER John??
    4. Now it?ÇÖs a couple weeks later and I get an email from him telling me that it was his mistake and the memory works fine! He said it was his fault because he didn?ÇÖt have his MB settings correct! I said good, I?ÇÖm glad!
    5. SOOO..now a week or so later,I get home from work and theres an email from him telling me that the memorys bad now! He wanted to see if I had the receipt for it and wanted me to send it to him or whatever. I looked for it and did?ÇÖnt find it. I told him via email if I did, I?ÇÖd let him know.
THEN, I get another one of his foul mouthed emails saying that I?ÇÖm a ?Ç£crooked assed trader?Ç¥ !
YEA?Ǫthat DID piss me off! I think anyone would be after this. You don?ÇÖt cuss at people and try and intimidate them, and then expect them to bend over backwards to try and help you out. That?ÇÖs not the way it works, and I?ÇÖd hope most people agree .

Since he apparently doesn?ÇÖt know what he is doing setting up his MB, HOW do I know that he didn?ÇÖt screw the memory up himself or for that matter, that he doesn?ÇÖt have it set up incorrectly again???? I mean, who knows..??
He obviously doesn?ÇÖt know what he wants! But one things for sure, he?ÇÖs trying to ruin my reputation! I won?ÇÖt put up with it, and he can go fly a kite. He had the chance to send it back and blew it.

    Response from EZduzit
We worked this out, but since I have a negative heat for an item that I paid for, and heatware has given me the option of a reply, please feel free to read my response.

    1. The memory was advertised as AIB PC3500 with a lifetime warranty.

    2. He agreed to ship first.

    3. I left town for the weekend on Friday morning (to my farm, the morning the memory arrived. I farm with my brother and he had taken Friday off as vacation so we could get everything ready and perhaps start the harvest. I did sign for the package on my way out the door for our farm which is 50 miles away from where we live. I put the package on the steps before I left and it stayed there until our return Sunday night at 10:00PM

4.When I got home, I checked my email and saw he had sent me several nasty email about I had better pay him and he knew the pcakage was delivered. Even though I had just put in three 16 hour days, I installed the memory in my computer that night and tested it out. It didn't run any faster then my Crucial PC2100. I tried it in 3 different machines, one of them wouldn't even boot up with this memory. I was up until after 2:30AM trying to get it to run at advertised speeds. The next day I was barley out of bed, when he called me at home and was very nasty with me. I hadn't decided what to do and was put off by being accused of being a crook, first in email, and now over the phone. I was wrung out from the long days and was getting sick. He agreed to take the memory back. I just got too sick to get it packed up and get it down to the Post Office, and he was yelling at me that he wanted it mailed TODAY!! I was just too sick (and getting sicker by the minute) to deal with it. I had a new motherboard, and maybe I was doing something wrong?? All I knew at that point was I wanted this guy off my case, so based on the fact that the memory had a lifetime warranty I just decided to paypal him the money. I recieved the memory on Friday, never got a chance to test it until late Sunday, and paid for it on Monday, even though it didn't run as advertised.

    4. After a little research, I learned how to enable the 3:4 cpu/mem ratio so I could run the memory at PC3200 speeds. This was supposed to be PC3500 memory, but it wouldn't run PC3200. I decided to take advantage of the warranty and exchange the memory with AIB under the lifetime warranty, but I needed the original invoice number to do that, so I emailed him asking for it and the email was returned by his ISP?? I checked his heat email and his profile email at the forum we traded at and I had the correct email? I tried emailing him again and the same thing happened, the email was returned by his ISP saying no such account? So I went to the forum and PM'ed him. He was on several times and never bothered to answer me, so I had to post a reply in the thread. He finally responded and said that such I had such an attitude, he wasn't going to help me. Now I am mad!! I held up my end of the bargain and he refuses to help me out in returning the memory that he sold me as having a liftime warranty.

I attacked him in the forum, and his response was to leave me a negative heat. So I left one for him, but I accidently hit neutral instead of negative, so I had to leave it again.

We did finally work it out, he found the invoices and sent them to me, so everything worked out and we are talking again, but now we both have bad heat in our records, too bad for us, I guess. All I know is it sucks to have bad heat!
