Tread carefully with this guy.
I shipped first, he both payed me and left positive heatware after receiving goods, confirming they were as advertised (New, still internally sealed). And yes, I left positive heat at that point. Who wouldn't? It was great up to that point.
However, after the fact he either found a manufacturing flaw, or he broke it. Tried to get money out of me for RMA to manufacturer or pay him to ship it back to me and get a refund. (Who pays for RMA shipping? No manufacturer, vendor or anyone else that I know of.)
When I refused, he immediately claimed it was 'used' and 'opened' when he received it, and filed a complaint with Paypal (paypal denied it). Well then, why did he pay me, and indicate that it was as advertised (new, still sealed) in his heatware?
His interaction with me was extremely rude and bullying, threatening me with his 130+ heatware, etc. No discussion, no compromise, nothing.
I have a complete PM record to indicate he was either lying or very confused or forgetful. I'll be glad to email it to anyone who requests it.
Here are some select quotes from his PM's with me and his heatware eval left for me:
His heatware eval:
"item arrived fast and in great condition as advertised. Thanks "
His first notification that the drive was having problems:
"it's just very aggravating that Cendyne can't even make a drive right anymore." (Hmm... no indication at this point that it wasn't new)
The following contradict his paypal payment and his heatware:
"What I wrote was that this Cendyne drive was not cellophaned, and the seal inside was broken. This drive HAS been opened by somebody before it got to me."
"this drive is not new."
The kind of threats I was getting about heatware, etc:
"I'll be glad to make sure nobody else buys items from you"
Haven't hear from him in over a week. I've got a PM out to him, waiting for some response to me calling him on his contradictory statements. One would think maybe it was because of the holidays, but he has been posting on [H] and amdforums at least. I've decided not to wait any longer.
If the guy had actually been courteous, and not tried to lie, threaten and deceive me, I likely would have compromised on the RMA or him returning it to me. But when he immediately turned to threats and lies, that went out the window pretty quick.
I suggest when deciding whether to deal with Klamen or not, you take a look at the following:
1. He's a high volume trader who appears to be in it for the money. No forum contribution anywhere to speak of that I could see
3. closed ebay account with some complaint near the end
4. On some trading forum (you'll have to get it from his signature, I'm not noting it here) he is the one and only admin/moderator. His forum? Don't know. The domain is registered to someone else.
Do you want to trade with a fellow enthusiast, or a guy out to make a buck? I could have him pegged wrong, but that's my gut after doing more research after the fact. I suggest you look into him yourself.
Note that I'm not out any money. But he was definitely the rudest trader I've run across online. And perhaps he was 'busy' and 'confused', but the contradictory statements sure looks like lying and an attempt at bullying and deception to me.
