Review for user Ranadin from cowsclaw

  • Bought a 74GB WD Raptor from him through [H]ardforum

DO NOT TRADE WITH HIM! No matter how good the trade is, do not trade with him. It's not worth the time and effort it'll take to get the merchandise. He apparently has a chronic case of bad communication. I really want to GIVE HIM A NEGATIVE, but he eventually sent the drive after I filed a Paypal complaint. Here's my post on Anandtech:

Does anyone here know or have you dealt with katin (heat: Ranadin, email: Ranadin@hanmail.net)? I haven't heard from him in a week. I paid for a 74GB Raptor and he said he would PM me the tracking number (we made our deal on Hardforum). It's been a week and he hasn't gotten back to me. I've PMed him four separate times and, according to his profile, he's been online after each PM, yet I have not received a reply. He's also been online on the AT boards, so he isnt dead or anything. He has pretty good heat (34 pos, 1 neut, 0 neg), so I dont know how to respond.

    Any suggestions?

    UPDATE:
he claims to have tried to send the package but UPS said he couldnt cause I gave him the wrong address. I didn't, though, cause I just used my verified address on file with Paypal. his "shipper" apparently transcribed my zip code incorrectly. Personally, I think it was just another lame excuse. he claims to have tried to contact me during that ~two week time period. yet he never PMed me, our original form of communication. Any person with any common sense would have gone back to PMs to contact me. but like I said before, I never got any PMs from him. After he finally contacted me, he said he would ship it the coming Monday and email me with the tracking number. Surprise! come Monday he didn't. I filed a complaint with Paypal that Tuesday (3/29), I believe. He finally shipped the package that Thursday according to the tracking info. He didn't even email the number to me, but instead only submitted it to Paypal's complaint process, which forwarded it to me; i.e., his communication is lousy. at least the packaging was decent. I haven't tried to test out the 74GB Raptor he sent since I probably wouldn't get a refund anyways (Paypal closed the complaint simply because a tracking number was provided). The drive still has a warranty, though, so I am protected in that regard. Just assume it works for now. I'll post an update if it doesn't work.

good luck if you are in a deal with him. don't be surprised if he doesn't communicate at all and it takes a long time to complete the transaction.

    Here's another thread about him:
