Traded Shayon a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical for a Win2K COA.
Cross-traded on February 24, 2002 AnandTech
The Short: I sent the mouse overnight, Shayon received the next day, I get the COA exactly seven weeks after the start of the deal. A couple of promises to update me with the COA\'s status weren\'t fulfilled with any great earnest.
The Long: Shayon was looking for an ambidextrous mouse which he\'d \"prefer to have it shipped overnight\" for the COA. (2/25/02) We agreed to the deal and I got the mouse out the same day by USPS Express Mail, then forwarded the shipping info. The next day, Shayon PMs me and confirms the mouse was received, checks out OK, and would send out the COA after buying some stamps. A week and a half go by before I ask if he\'s sent the COA, responds (3/8/02) that he\'s been sick and \"I couldn\'t get it out until today.\"
After no COA and \'shy\' not showing up on Anandtech for almost two weeks, I decide to send emails to the address listed in his profile, each time asking for an update (3/19, 3/23, and 3/26). The week of the 17th was his school\'s Spring Break (I didn\'t realize this until the third email) but on 3/26 Shayon sends a PM saying he responded to my second email and that I must not have gotten it. In the original reply, Shy said that he had just gotten back from break, \"a lot of my packages and letters got returned to me that I had sent out previously, yours included\", \"I will use delivery confirmation and send you the number by email and PM,\" and that he was offering the COA and the mouse to make up for the trouble, or a money order for some amount to make it up. I declined the offers, saying that the COA is all I wanted and gave him my other address, just in case the one I have is flaky. Great... or so I thought.
No response until I ask *again* on both 4/1 and 4/5, then he replies on 4/5 saying \"I\'ve got a meeting in a few minutes, I\'ll let you know your DC # immediately following.\" Two days of non-response later, I ask once more in a single word message: \"... so?\" (I was getting frustrated). Nothing happened again until 4/11 when I emailed, in no uncertain terms and with deadlines, that I was ending the deal unless something happens soon on Shayon\'s part. The next day, I get a DC# and on Monday, 4/15, I get the COA with a postmark of 4/12.
Throughout the deal from about the third week on, I lost confidence Shayon was doing anything other than blowing smoke up my ***. He made two definitive \"I will\"/\"I\'ll\" statements to forward me the DC# (once in the response I got on 3/26, then again on 4/5) but never did until I sent my ultimatum. That\'s my reasoning for the negative.February 24, 2002
