  I bought a parallel port cdrom from him (turned out to be defective)

  The item was defective when it got here. I let him know that I couldn't get it working and he responded very promptly with troubleshooting suggestions which I tried, and then we agreed that I would send it back for him to look at. Apparently it was damaged en route to me and he did a great job of communicating to me that he would refund the money and he did so promptly. I have learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way that they handle trades that don't go perfectly, and Thomcat did an exemplary job of dealing with the situation. I would heartily recommend dealing with him, he will make sure that he holds up his end of the deal.
