  • bought Dell Inspiron 5150 and retracting previous positive comment.

I wish to retract my previous positive comment on the inspiron 5150, he said numerous times he would ship it on x date and it did not ship. I did send him an echeck which took a few days to clear, but he never mentioned that, if it had not cleared he should not say I will ship it on this date. He did not mention this until I got on him for not shipping it over a week later. When I did finally get it the connectors on the back of the laptop for the usb port were completely missing, he did not mention this to me at all. When I tried to contact him he gave no response to that and it has been almost a week. Other than that the laptop was in good condition and he did give me everything that was agreed upon in the deal, but I am leaving negative feedback mainly do to the failure to mention the problem with the usb ports currently making them unusable.

Buyer should know enough about the seller/buyer principle to understand that sellers don't ship until payment is received in full. Sending a PayPal eCheck (uncleared for over 5 days) and expecting immediate shipping is rediculous. The originally stated shipping date quoted was based on an assumption of immediate payment, which didn't happen. Payment cleared when I was out of town during Thanksgiving holiday and shipping occured upon return. Poor planning on the buyer's part does not constitute an emergency on mine. Moral of the story: fast shipping requires fast payment.

The Inspiron 5150 was originally purchased by me as a refurb minus USB ports. USB was never mentioned in the sale. Hint for buyer: buy a PCMCIA USB adapter for $15. Stop complaining you got a GREAT deal and I threw in a lot of extra equipment for FREE.

Great seller and easy to deal with, he held the 9800 Pro for me while I sold my 6800 GT on ebay and did not mind at all. Shipped it out the monday after I sent the payment. Great guy, and very friendly.
